We crossed into 2025! What a blessing it is to be alive, well, and surrounded by our family and loved ones. With a new year comes goals and resolutions that we intend to achieve. However, the major difference between a new year and just another month or day lies in your mindset.
What makes the new year everything you hope it will be is what you feed your heart and mind with. It’s your ability and willingness to start implementing instructions you may have been taking for granted. Most importantly, it’s how faithfully you follow God’s word and commands.
As I studied the Bible today, God revealed to me the attitude we must adopt to win His way this new year. Let me share these precious insights He taught me.
In Isaiah 8:9-22, God begins with powerful assurances to us, His children, who will walk by His word:
- Every gathering against us will be scattered
- Every war waged against our rising will be shattered
- Every counsel against us will come to nothing
- Every negative decree against us by the wicked ones will not stand
Why? Because God is with us – Immanuel.
However, to experience these promises in 2025, we must follow three key divine instructions:
- Focus Solely on God Your gaze must be fixed on God above all else. This means turning aside from worldly distractions and refusing to be caught up in what the world calls “conspiracy.” Remember: all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Even when policies and circumstances around you seem threatening, they will ultimately work for your good when you stay focused on God. In His presence, He reveals strategies for success and guides you toward favorable outcomes.
- Fear God Alone We are not to fear what the world fears or be in dread of earthly threats. The Lord of hosts is the One we should regard as holy and awesome. When He alone becomes our source of reverence, He transforms into our sanctuary – a sacred, indestructible shelter for those who trust Him. Let His perfect love cast out all other fears.
- Pray with Expectation Bring everything before God in prayer and watch how He works in your life. This promise extends to your children, your household, and everyone who lives according to God’s will. You will become living testimonies of His signs and wonders on earth, as declared by the Lord of hosts Himself.
God’s Word also offers a sobering warning: those who choose to consult mediums and soothsayers instead of the living God will face consequences. They will experience distress, hunger, and darkness – not because God desires this, but because they’ve turned from the true source of light and provision.
But there’s good news! This year can be radically different. When we choose to place our complete trust and devotion in God, He becomes our guide, protector, and source of endless blessings. Let us make 2025 a year of unprecedented closeness to Him and watch His promises unfold in ways we could never imagine.
Remember: His presence – Immanuel, God with us – makes all the difference.
